What is SME?

SME stands for small to medium enterprise or businesses which are small and medium-sized, whose personal statistics fall below certain kind of limits. SME is an abbreviation used by international organizations like the United Nations, World Bank and the World Trade Organization.

In most of the countries, small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) comprise of a massive majority of businesses. It is a business that has employees below a certain threshold and maintains revenues. There are plenty of schemes under which government funding for SME is been initiated in order to promote this sector. The government is even striving to make credit available to SMEs and start-ups.
